Officially, Anne Johnson, is a staff member. She is the bookkeeper for Unity Spiritual Center; one of those people who always stays until all the work is done. However, Anne is so much more. She is an amazing volunteer and truly understands the meaning of service. When she’s not holed up in the “Cave” (the Accounting Office), she is here every Sunday greeting people at the Welcome Center and assisting the Ushers. She is actively involved with the Y.O.U. and YFM. She is very supportive of Tai-Chi, Yoga, Breathwork classes and the Grief Support Group. She is the co-creator of “Wednesday Friends Day!” and even named the USC band — The Unity SoulShine Band! She a Unity student of Truth and strives to embody the teachings of Unity leaders from the past— the Fillmores, May Rowland, James Dillet Freeman and Eric Butterworth to name a few — researching their lessons and digging deeper into Unity history. Her curiosity to learn more about Unity has become a passion. Anyone who knows Anne knows what a light she is. Her contagious smile her laughter, her genuine caring about anyone whose life she touches comes shining through. Her greeting of “Hello, Friend” or “Hello, Beautiful” are genuine and those who hear it, know it. Anne and her two YOU teenagers, Alex and Katie, are the embodiment of what we call “Unity”. This Sunday, please take a moment to thank Anne for the many ways she helps make our spiritual community stronger. We are truly grateful for all she does!
