South 10K Trail Hike
Saturday October 25, 9:00am

Join us for this gorgeous Fall hike! This is a moderately difficult trail traversing the eastern side of the Sandia Mountains under the shade of alpine forests. The trail is named 10K because it roughly follows the 10K foot elevation line. This is rated as a "moderate" trail with 600 feet elevation gain from beginning to end. (Starting at the intersection with South Crest Trail #130 and Tree Spring Trail #147, 10K crosses multiple secondary trails and passes through the Sandia Peak ski area. The trail is used as a cross country ski route in the winter and is well marked with blue diamonds.

Dress for the weather and be prepared for high altitude hiking! It can be chilly at 10k altitude in October. Bring water, Trail food and wear sturdy shoes.

| We will meet at the Unity Spiritual Center Parking lot and caravan to the trail head at 9:00am.
