We’re excited to begin a new series based on Lessons in Truth by Emily Cady. Our first lesson explores the fundamental question: Who and what are we? Understanding our true identity is the key to unlocking the divine potential within us. Bondage or Liberty? Which Will You Choose?
In her first chapter, Cady contrasts two ways of living: bondage (limiting beliefs and fears) and liberty (embracing our spiritual truth). When we recognize our divine essence, we move from limitation to freedom. Cady writes, “The question before us is not ‘What am I?’ but ‘Who am I?’” We are spiritual beings, inherently good, and divinely guided.
Recognizing Our Divine Identity
Cady offers a powerful Statement of Being in Chapter 2: “I am a spiritual being, created in the image and likeness of God, and I am good. My essence is divine.” This affirmation reminds us that our true nature is not defined by external conditions, but by the divine presence within us.
To align with this truth, use these affirmations:
“I am a spiritual being, whole, perfect, and free.”
“My true essence is of God, and I am inherently good.”
“I am not bound by appearances or past experiences. I am free to express my divine nature now.”
These affirmations will help you break free from limiting beliefs and embrace your divine identity. Choosing Liberty in Every Moment
Take a moment today to ask: In what areas of my life am I still living in “bondage”? How can I choose liberty by embracing my divine essence and experiencing the freedom that is my birthright?
We look forward to continuing this exploration together. May you feel the freedom and joy that comes with embracing your true nature.
