GUEST SPEAKER, SUNDAY, JULY 5, REV. MINDY TUCKER
Dear Unity Family,
It is with great joy that we welcome Unity minister Rev. Mindy Tucker as our special guest speaker this Sunday! It has been my privilege to know Mindy for many years, and I'm delighted she'll be with us. There are no coincidences and it feels like one more synchronicity that Mindy serves our movement as an advisor to ministerial students, including our own Michael Small.
Mindy will be sharing the first message in our July series, "From Independence to Interdependence," with a talk titled "The Myth of Separation." In her own words, Mindy shares:
Based on the Universal truth, "You are not separate. You never were. You never could be," this lesson explores why we so often experience ourselves as disconnected from God, one another, and life itself. While healthy development of nations, cultures and society require us to establish a sense of individualism and independence, spiritual maturity invites us beyond the illusion of separation into a deeper awareness of connection.
Independence serves an important purpose in helping us discover our unique expression, but our spiritual journey does not end there.
Let's explore the adventure of discovery: I am a unique expression of Life, and I am inseparable from the Life that expresses itself through me.
Rev. Mindy's Bio - Her holy purpose is to infuse connections with vibrancy. As a Unity minister, she weaves together spiritual truths and communicates them in a way that inspires people to take positive, meaningful action. Since 2008, she has served as a catalyst for transformation in Unity communities across the country — from her home church in Hawai'i to congregations in Connecticut, North Carolina, and recently Mesa, Arizona.
Her path to ministry has been, like many, beautifully eclectic. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Southern California and an MBA from the University of Hawai'i, Rev. Mindy spent two decades in the corporate world while raising her family. Eventually, her deep love for Truth principles called her back to a lifelong dream: becoming an ordained Unity minister. Today, she also teaches in both of Unity's ministerial training programs, joyfully supporting the next generation of spiritual leaders.
Rev. Mindy shares life in a loving, co-committed relationship with her partner, Rev. Dr. Nickie Golden. She is also the proud mama of two adult sons: Mark, a principal dancer with the Eugene Ballet, who — along with his wife — is the joyful parent of three young children; and Chris, a financial planner, who is happily married and thriving in his career.
